Society and technology in this new era changes the dating process. Dating experience might often lonely: frustrating with those painful rejections, horrible memories and uncertainty that will lead you to stop your self from dating others or become afraid of trying to give love another shot. Those old school types of slow and uncertain dating have been changed to fast and easy but very dangerous online dating, finding romance from the comfort of your own home.

According to Joe Schwartz there are five different types of people that register for dating services: the dabbler, the nester, the hormone and the seeker. The dabbler is just filled with curiosity and does not have any real interest in dating, whereas the nester is primarily interested in finding their soul mate and settling down. The hormone is basically seeking physical attention and the butterfly wants to make a lot of acquaintances. The last is the seeker, interested in a dating agenda but isn’t set on what they are looking for.

Online dating increases the factor of finding potential romantic partners. You can extend your search for the “one” up to the other side of the globe just browsing online. With online dating, you can choose whom to interact with. You can get to check the profile of the person (just be cautious for fake personalities). You can explore many things and interact with other people you are afraid to talk with in person or someone you haven’t met. When you get to start interacting with the person you like, you start to feel the excitement and ask about personal information and to know the person deeper each day. Each time you communicate the level of your feelings towards the person increases for the more you long for the person’s presence. You would get to imagine how would it be like if you’re together or whatsoever. When communication is successful and you get to be labeled together as one and start your virtual relationship, the situation would tend to be different or change.  Research shows that teens now a days who are involved in online relationships provoke an excessive amount of hurt feelings because different intentions are not voiced as quickly as they are in real world relationships or words may seem so ambiguous and may lead to misunderstandings.
When engaging in traditional dating, you get to interact and deal with a real person. This eliminates any chance for exaggerated and flowery description of character traits. Just don’t forget the basic rules that apply in traditional dating scenarios for security and comfort. Friends may help you find your perfect match by setting you up for a blind date or let you meet with someone they know you would be compatible with. But, not all situations come the way you imagine it to be. It might very awkward or embarrassing having a conversation with a stranger and this may reduce your chances for success. Honestly, this type of dating requires a greater leap of faith, which adds to the emotional involvement. Also, traditional dating allows you to learn about your partner slowly over time, and at the same time maintain the touch of mystery, making future discoveries more meaningful. Spending time together will create memories that will make you fonder for each other.
Dating is something you can’t always predict. If it goes well then good but if it turns out kinda bad, well, charge it to experience. As a person, TOUCH is very important to intimacy and attraction. Obviously, you can never do this via online.
